Project Description
The name “Sanasil” was inspired by the museum’s design and function, and its connection to a learning process based on construction and progression. In Palestinian culture, sanasal is linked to the environment and man’s inherent relationship with his surroundings, as they are built from the basic components of the earth and from the stones it provides, which the farmer lays on top of each other in expert engineering. To form a bridge that protects the land from erosion and preserves its fertility, which is what the process of museum learning is based on, which takes place collectively and constructively, with each individual interacting with it, adding to it, and deriving from it new meanings that jump off the school wall towards the space of authentic and free learning.
About the client
A platform for learning and exploration, the first of its kind in Palestine and the Arab world, which aims to create digital spaces for play and inquiry, and contributes to expanding the museum learning experience for children, adolescents, teachers, and all parties involved in learning and teaching about the history and culture of Palestine. The platform encourages self-expression and the exchange of opinions and ideas, by employing elements of fun, surprise, and exploration through four themes around which the platform’s design and content revolve: We play, we create, we explore, and we communicate.
The platform provides the museum’s audience with interactive educational materials, which have been developed to suit the needs of people with special needs, and vary between animation videos, virtual reality, electronic games, timelines, interactive panels, and other materials that allow them to engage in the museum’s programs and exhibitions in different ways. Interesting beyond the school learning experience.
